“They Should Hire Magic Johnson”: Fans Destroy LeBron James’ Lakers as Top Coach Reportedly Rejects Team

The Los Angeles Lakers concluded their abysmal season on Sunday night with an overtime win against the Denver Nuggets. Malik Monk and Austin Reeves were in top form. The two players were probably the only positives from this season along with LeBron James. The 37-year-old legend, in his 19th season, was consistent and displayed tremendous scoring form.
But before the game ended, the rumors and reports came out of the head coach losing his job. Frank Vogel led his side to the NBA championship in 2020. However the 2021-22 season was miserably below par. The decision was already taken by the Lakers board and Frank Vogel was surprisingly unaware. In the post-game interview, the reporters asked him about his future and he blatantly answered that he was not informed.

Pointing the blame on a single player or only the coach is not fair. Basketball is a team game and the season they just had was a responsibility of every person representing the yellow and purple jersey. So only changing the coach would not automatically mean success for the team next season.

Having said that, they needed to revamp the team, and this is a start. Now the front office of the Lakers is in search of a new coach. However, it won’t be easy as a top coach has potentially refused the offer.
Quin Snyder has shown little interest in coaching the Lakers
The Lakers are on the lookout for a new coach in the market but the way they treated Frank Vogel may have pushed away a potential candidate. According to the Los Angeles Times’ Broderick Turner, Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder has become less interested in the Lakers’ job because of how the team handled Vogel’s firing.

Haha, Lakers poverty organization. They should hire Magic Johnson as their coach, GM, team owner, and starting PG again.

Bro are the Lakers being run by some wannabe 2K my league GM lol. The way they go for the biggest names and ignore fit and mistreat their coaches seems very 2k like to me. This team probably has 0 morale and chemistry rating rn lol.

The news broke out when ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted about the sources confirming the firing of Vogel. To say it caught everyone by surprise would be an understatement because Frank claimed that the front office made no contact with him before the news broke out.
