Russell Westbrook is a name that comes up practically every time we talk about the league’s star point guards. He is regarded as one of the most dominant point guards of all time. His accomplishments in stacking up triple-doubles, racking up incredible numbers on the rebounding and assisting charts, and helping his team in dire situations are significant. The 2017 MVP is currently under contract with the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2023 season.

The guard’s previous two seasons have been difficult, with him lacking consistency and struggling to fit in with the new Lakers group. With everyone thinking that this season would be his comeback season, his troubles for the season appeared to be exacerbated by the addition of former Clippers guard Patrick Beverley. Everything seems to be fine in a recent viral video between the two Lakers guards. Beverley was heading to answer some media questions as Westbrook was standing near the riser. They greeted each other before the  went ahead to answer the questions.  The greeting was not just a formal handshake, but a passionate one. And followed by a brotherly half-hug.

Russ and Bev. What had actually happened?

The feud between Pat Bev and Russell Westbrook dates back to 2013 when Russ had suffered a season-ending injury. As it turns out, Beverley was defending him at that moment. Therefore, Westbrook got mad at him for the injury.

This was the birth of beef which seemed that it wouldn’t end. Earlier this year, Beverley was seen trolling Russ in a Tweet. Calling out his underwhelming performance, the 6’1″ guard wrote, “I remember when somebody said all I do is run around and I trick y’all. Well, my boy is The Real Magician this year.”
