“This Is God’s Plan”: After Expressing His Regrets Over Khloe Kardashian, Ex-Lakers Star Opened Up About Surviving a Life-Altering Overdose

Former NBA Star Lamar Odom has had a whirlwind of a career. Through his years in the NBA, Odom bagged two NBA championship titles with the Los Angeles Lakers and played alongside the likes of Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol. While he excelled on the court, off the court his life was nothing less than tumultuous. In his latest documentary with TMZ, Odom opened up about his life on and off the court while speaking about his ex-wife Khloe Kardashian and a life-altering incident.

Odom and Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian tied the knot in 2009. Their wedding was filmed on the Keeping up with the Kardashians show and was attended by high-profile celebrities and Odom’s teammates. However, their fairytale-like life took a disturbing turn after Odom left the Lakers in 2011. Following his exit, the two-time champion started struggling with substance abuse issues, leading to troubles in his relationship with Khloe. But the situation would take a turn for the worst soon.

In 2015, Odom was found unconscious in Nevada. After being rushed to the hospital, his life was hanging by the edge. The 2011 NBA Sixth Man of the Year’s addiction to drugs, cocaine in particular, led to an overdose which resulted in heart attacks and kidney failure, among other health conditions. However, Odom managed to battle through these painful struggles.

In his documentary, the two-time NBA champion spoke about how doctors told him that could never walk or talk again. However, he stayed on the course and got better. Odom claimed that he has god to thank for this, “I walked into this building, and I’m talking to you right now, so everything that I’m doing this is God’s plan.

Odom has time and again referred to God as his savior. He believes that the Almighty has given him the strength to stay on the course and has helped his family believe in him even when all hope was lost. In his documentary named, Lamar Odom: S**, Drugs and Kardashians, he added that he was God’s son and is living for him.

In the same show, Odom expressed his regrets over his relationship with Khloe Kardashian. He stated that because of his addictions, he put the Good American’s founder “through some sh**”.

Parts of their relationship struggles were seen on the Keeping Up show. However, Odom revealed that there were more stories that no one knows about. He said, “The things that y’all think y’all know is crazy. But the stories that y’all don’t know is really crazy.”

After such harrowing experiences, Odom has sworn off drugs and is aiming to live a better life.
