Chicago Bulls legend Dennis Rodman pushed the envelope on his wardrobe. He started wearing clothes that were designed for females. Embracing femininity and flamboyance, Dennis Rodman may have been a little ahead of his time. One of the real head-turners was Rodman wearing a wedding dress to promote his book which got a big co-sign from four-time Grammy award winner, Steven Tyler.

Dennis Rodman wasn?t the first one to start wearing eyeliner and colorful nail paint. But he surely was the first one to do so in the NBA. He contributed to the development of a more comprehensive understanding and acceptance of the various types of expressions of masculinity.

Dennis Rodman found support from Steven Tyler

What was then considered to be going a little too far off the edge was Dennis Rodman wearing a wedding dress in order to promote his book, ?Bad As I Wanna Be.??

Dennis Rodman, however, found support from the lead singer of Aerosmith, Steven Tyler. Rodman ran into Tyler a night before his book signing on his way to the gym. He narrated the scenario saying, ?I went out to the gym, and I was riding the StairMaster.??

?And to my left was Steven Tyler, just working out.?? The 5-time Champion decided to tell him his plans of wearing a wedding dress to his book signing the next day. And Tyler replied by saying, ?Oh, my God, that is so f*****g awesome!?

Rodman received great support from Tyler who followed it by saying, ?Do it, do it, do it!? Sparking Rodman?s desire to don a completely different persona off the court. Nevertheless, some of it did rub off on his on-court plays.

Rodman got the response he wanted

The dress was all part of his plan to promote his book back in 1996. Even though Rodman was in New York, he was amazed by the amount of attention he got from fans in another city.
