The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Indiana Pacers in a very close game that went to the wire. This loss is going to haunt the fans and the franchise for a very long time. As nothing seemed to work for the Lakers in the fourth quarter, they blew a 17 points lead as the Pacers pushed and claimed the victory with a buzzer-beater. Following the loss, Anthony Davis and LeBron James spoke about the shortcomings. Listening to this, fans shared their reactions.

The Lakers were in full control through the first three-quarters of the game. In fact, the Lakers were in a solid 17-point lead. It looked like they are going to get the dub, but that was when things took a turn.

The Pacers played stellar defense and made it difficult for the Lakers to score. In the final two minutes of the game, the Pacers managed to reduce the lead to 1 point.

With just five seconds left in the game, the Lakers were leading by 2 points. That’s when Andrew Nembhard made the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer. This sure was a “heartbreaker” for the Lakers fans. As the ball went in, the whole Pacers bench ran toward Nembhard and celebrated. The fans couldn’t believe what they just witnessed.

The fans were disappointed with the performance of the Lakers. Many fans were not impressed with the showing of superstar LeBron James.

What went wrong with LeBron James and the Lakers?

LeBron James scored 21 points, with 7 rebounds, and 3 assists in 36 minutes of action. However, during the post-game interview, when asked about what went wrong. LeBron replied, “Everything has to go wrong in order for you to lose a game like that and everything went wrong.”

On the other hand, Anthony Davis, who had 25 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists said, “This one hurts.” Furthermore, he mentioned that the team’s rebounding and transition were their biggest challenges against the Pacers.

The Los Angeles Lakers coach Darvin Ham believes that the team could have been more aggressive. They were not able to carry the same intensity into the fourth quarter and that’s when things went south.

Tyrese Haliburton was the star performer for the Indiana Pacers. During his 35 minutes of action, he scored 24 points, with 7 rebounds, and 14 assists. The hero of the night Nembhard not only won the game for the team but also played a crucial role in defending James.
