“This Sh*t Is Rigged”: Lakers Fans Resonate With LeBron James in Utter Disbelief After Absurd Officiating Draws Polarizing Reactions

The Los Angeles Lakers battled the Boston Celtics today for NBA Rivals Week. The former team suffered a disheartening loss to the Celtics in Overtime, continuing their losing record. Although fans loved the thrill of the game, they were not impressed with the poor officiating during the entire game. NBA fans erupted in the 4th quarter after the referees missed a foul call on Lakers star LeBron James.

James’s 41-point performance was not enough for the team to get past the Boston Celtics in Rivals Week. The fans believe the Lakers deserve the victory after the poor call by the referees late in the fourth quarter

Both the teams went back on each other throughout the game. With the game perfectly set for the fourth quarter, the Celtics gave a comeback after they were down by 9 points in the third quarter. The Lakers did not give up till the last play. In a video from Twitter, Patrick Beverly dunked the ball in the final few seconds to tie the game, showing the clutch performance of the Lakers.

A few seconds away, LeBron James who went for the game-winning lay-up was clearly fouled. James, who could not complete the play was furious as the referees did not call a foul. Fans believe the potential game-winner was ruined by the referees. Here are some of the fans’ reactions to the no-call on Twitter:

Considering the Lakers’ struggle this season, every game is crucial for them. The replay showing a clear contact on the Lakers forward, which was not called for is raising frustration among fans. Lakers fans are in utter disappointment for the no-call, as it would have been a crucial win for the team considering their record 

Lakers fall down to 13th seed

After their loss today against the Boston Celtics, the Lakers have fallen down to the 13th seed. The team stands right under the Portland Trailblazers. The Lakers currently have a 23-27 record in the Western Conference. Considering the tight competition in the West, the Lakers have a very tough road to the playoffs.
