Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving has been facing quite some backlash due to his actions and comments. After Kanye West?s alleged antisemitic comments, Kyrie became the name in the headlines. Media and fans took Kyrie posting a link to a documentary as promoting antisemitism which has sparked quite the controversy surrounding the Brooklyn Nets. Irving shared a link to ?Hebrew To Negroes: Wake Up Black America? on his Twitter account this past week. This led the owner of the Nets to make a statement on Twitter along with the team also releasing a public statement.

In order to not put a stop to all the controversy surrounding Irving, the Nets did not make him available for the media. Despite winning the matchup against the Indiana Pacers, Irving was a no-show for the post-game interview.

And now NFL legend Shannon Sharpe gave his take on Kyrie Irving receiving some unlikely support from rapper Kanye West. Before Kyrie, Kanye West was slammed for his comments which hinted toward antisemitism. And, many brands chose to end their business relationship with West.

Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe however had an interesting take on the whole situation. Sharpe said, ?I ain?t got no problem with freedom of speech. Freedom of speech in America does not mean you?re free of consequences in America. So, you can say whatever you want, you can spew whatever you want but when the backlash and the consequences come, don?t come home crying to me Kanye.??

Sharpe concluded his thoughts by saying, ?Kyrie, I just don?t know what his end game is. He?s always trying to like, ‘I?m a free thinker’. That was not free thoughts Kanye.?

Kanye West posted a picture of Stephen A. Smith and Kyrie Irving, in light of supporting them and referring to the two as ?the real ones.? His posts on social media also led to Ye getting locked out of his own social media accounts. Irving also had a heated back-and-forth with ESPN?s Nick Friedell during a post-game interview as well.

It will be interesting to see how this situation further unfurls with Kyrie Irving and Kanye West.
