Shaquille O’Neal is called a giant for a reason. The 7’1 center is regarded as the most dominant player to ever play the game. However, basketball is not all Shaq is good at. The Los Angeles Lakers legend is a man of many talents. Shaq is also a musician and has released four studio albums. Other than that, he is a celebrated DJ as well and goes by the name DJ Diesel.

At the very beginning of his basketball career, the Big Man decided that he’ll continue doing music. For his love for the art form, he often collaborated with other artists and his influence as an athlete helped his case as well. Shaq, during one of his music gigs, threatened one of the most celebrated rock bands at the time. The reason Shaq threatened to sue them is not something that you can imagine.

Shaq recently released a track King Talk to celebrate the NBA Playoffs. With the connections he has made through his basketball career, Shaq uses that to leverage his music career.

This is something he’s done since the beginning. However, all collaborations don’t turn out to be as friendly and healthy as one would imagine. In fact, the Big Man collaborated with the band 311 in 2001 and it ended up with Shaq almost suing them.

However, Shaq had other plans apart from just playing basketball. He was featured in the video for You Wouldn’t Believe by 311 and faced an unusual issue. Shaq reached the set with two left shoes and considering he wears size 22, no one had a spare for him. So the Big Man told the band that they better not film his feet and if they do, he will sue them.

Nothing went wrong from there and the NBA legend and the band still share a good bond.

Being with the Lakers he was an important member of the team. The coach Phil Jackson wouldn’t have allowed it if he knew about Shaq’s video shoot. So the 4x NBA champion asked the band to only release the video after the playoffs. Shaq didn’t just win that year’s NBA championship but also won it the subsequent year, achieving the three-peat.
