The respect and love for the Kobe Bryant family has always been overflowing. Ever since the tragic passing of the Los Angeles Lakers legend and his daughter, several celebrities have found a way to honor the family whenever possible. Among them, NFL superstar Russell Wilson’s wife Ciara took the task to honor Gigi and also collected the ‘cool mom points’ in the process. Moreover, Vanessa Bryant took the opportunity to express her gratitude to the star singer. 

The Grammy award-winning singer, Ciara, has developed a special bond with Vanessa after the passing of Bryant. Notably, the duo’s bond before Kobe Bryant’s passing is unclear, but they have come a long way, attending parties and going on vacations. Moreover, in one of Vannessa’s social media posts, she referred to Wilson and Ciara as ‘Uncle’ and ‘Aunt’ to her children.

Vanessa Bryant took to her Instagram story and shared a picture of Ciara sporting a Team Mamba Gigi Bryant Player edition jersey. In response, Ciara reshared the story and wrote, “Love you V Booski.” Bryant shared this picture three days after the star singer sported the same jersey for Game 5 between the New York Knicks and the Miami Heat.

Apart from wearing the jersey, she also came out as a ‘cool mom’ as she took her son to the game and helped him grab some special collectibles from the Knicks stars. She shared a video compilation of her visit to the game on her Instagram with a special caption that read, “Took my big baby boy to The Knick’s Vs Miami Heat Playoffs Game 5! He better be doing all his chores and not missing a beat and I better get some cool mom points.”

This isn’t the first time where Ciara honored the Bryant family with jerseys. Last month, the star singer purchased the platinum edition of Lakers jerseys with Bryant’s name and number 24 on it from the Mamba & Mambacita Foundation to honor the family.

Sports stars honoring Kobe Bryant

As mentioned earlier, sports stars and celebrities find a way to honor the Black Mamba whenever possible. Ciara’s husband, Russell Wilson, sported an all-black Bryant jersey and Kobe Grinch 6 sneakers while playing against the L.A. Rams in 2020 in Divisional games. Moreover, current Lakers star, Rui Hachimura, wears number 28 for the LA side and has dedicated the number to honor the 5x NBA Champion and his daughter.
