At the beginning of it all, it looked like Ben Simmons would leave Philadelphia. After a bad playoff run last year, fans blamed the star for their exit. Moreover, even the organisation held him responsible to some degree. This made Simmons grow apart, and he left the city out of his future. But now it seems the Australian star may have changed his mind.

Simmons was adamant on not playing for Philadelphia ever again. He made his intentions clear by not participating in their training camp and even preseason. However, everything comes at a cost. The organisation put heavy fines on the All-Star. Hence, recent reports show that he is back with the 76ers and has completed the necessary COVID protocols.

Simmons would be fined almost $360,000 per game that he would miss. Such a big financial hit would affect any player and make them think twice about what they do ahead. This is the reason many think he has come back to the organisation. Despite Philly gaining a big advantage on his return, fans remain to be as ruthless as ever.

They trolled the star on twitter and were not afraid to speak their minds out. Their hate grew much more since his decision to avoid training camp and they resent Ben.

However, for the 76ers, this is extremely good news. While it took huge fines to make the star come back, it favors them a lot. While there is no guarantee of what happens from here on out, Philly seem to have Ben in their future plans. His inclusion in the roster will add great value on the defensive end, while a change in mentality could work on offence as well.

Coach Doc Rivers made it cleat that the organisation wants to see Simmons return. Hence, now that he is back with the team, it will give them an opportunity to talk and get to a mutual decision. With the organisation wanting him back on the court, their side is quite clear. However, convincing the Aussie will take quite some persuasion looking at the fans’ reaction.
