Back at the Staples Center, the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Cleveland Cavaliers in their sixth game of the season. Coming in with a record of 2-3, they will certainly look to back up their shocking loss to OKC Thunder. The Lakers need to improve their late-game tactics, and their previous loss was proof; they lost despite being up by 26 points at one point. LeBron James is also making his return after missing the previous two games to ankle soreness.

Apart from him, the duo of Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis are doing their job. In the King’s absence, they took over for the Lakers and showed out. Notably, AD has been scoring 30 points in back-to-back games since LeBron has gone down with ankle soreness. On the other hand, Westbrook put up his first triple double in the last game, but turnovers are still an issue.

Fans disgusted as Lakers turn the ball again and again

The purple and gold received good news with LeBron James making his return. Likewise, they started the first quarter strong, taking a 4 point lead early. Westbrook was aggressive for the Lakes tallying 7 points. However, things went south after that. The Cavaliers went off on a 13-0 run to end the quarter, thus taking the lead to end the first quarter.

The main reason for this was the Lakers’ turnovers. Their struggles were evident, and the fans were quick to get on it. They racked up a total of 10 turnovers in the first quarter alone. Moreover, they couldn’t keep a hold of the ball while the Cavs continued to hurt them because of the turnovers.

However, they are yet to establish a unit that can work together. Building chemistry will be their priority in the coming few games. Developing the trust and team work early is what the Lakers will hope for as they continue to figure things out.
