This matchup between Slovenia and Argentina looked like a balanced matchup in the first place. But from the start of the game, it was clear that Doncic was not messing around. Scoring a whooping 17 points in the first quarter, Luka led the Europeans to a fantastic 32-24 start.

While the Argentinian side did see some of their stars like Luis Scola and Facundo Campazzo step up in the offensive end, their biggest Achilles heel in this game was their woeful shooting. Scoring only 4 of their 27 attempted shots, their was no way of a comeback for the 2004 gold medalists.
Slovenia meanwhile looked like the Dallas Mavericks in the playoffs as it was a Luka Doncic show. Scoring a mind-boggling 48 points along with 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocks, the 22-year-old was the best player on the court tonight. He was efficient as well scoring in 18 of his 29 attempted shots.
The Slovenian team is clearly a Luka run team and if the Mavericks’ superstar continues to perform at such a high level, expect to see the Europeans competing for a possible spot in the podium.
