For the Atlanta Hawks, there is no full stop to drama. The star of the team, Trae Young, and the head coach, Nate McMillan seem to be not in the same wavelength anymore. Evidence suggests that there is a great deal of disagreement between both parties. But a Hall of Famer and former basketball coach did not mince words against Young.

I am tired of Trae Young“, said George Karl. He continued to say that he is as perplexed as anyone is. He claimed that he does not understand what is happening. “I am just tired of guys who cause hell, and a day later, they are the victim“, continued Karl.

Fans did not like Karl’s scathing attack on Trae Young. One person wrote, “George Karl is trying to stay relevant“. Many slammed the coach and said that they are tired of his commentary.

George Karl did acknowledge that Trae Young was a good basketball player. But according to Karl, Young’s demands are being catered to more often than not, despite not being a superstar.

Karl even tweeted that he disliked the rumors of Nate McMillan departing before the season ends. He believed that McMillan had what it takes to be a great coach and person. “There is too much player empowerment in this league sometimes“, he ended.

It is reported that Trae Young has access to power within his franchise, which he may be taking advantage of. Some believe that his friendship with Nick Ressler, son of the Hawks’ owner, Tony Ressler may give him added empowerment to behave “differently”.

Why did fans defend Trae Young?

The reason for their scuffle, according to the media, is that Trae Young refused to get into a shootaround. But more questions cropped up after he exited the game. However, despite his locker room issues, he has proved his mettle time and again.

Fans dissing George Karl also stemmed from him not having won a championship. His teams lost 824 times during the regular season. An article on the NBA website stated that “he was hired 5 times- and fired 5 times, once within a month of being named NBA Coach of the Year“.
