At 37, LeBron James has continued to dominate the NBA. Though the Los Angeles Lakers sit at ninth on the table, James’ high-scoring games have earned him MVP considerations from fans. This includes on-court presence, which has remained impressive throughout the season.

During the Lakers’ recent 131-120 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, James pulled off an amazing dunk over Kevin Love–his former teammate and friend.

With around 2 minutes left in the half, James received a pass from Austin Reaves. As only Love stood between the bucket and him, James ended up going through Love and threw down a monster dunk. Unsurprisingly, fans went crazy on social media.

As usual, fans had different reactions to the Kevin Love-James’ interactions. Some looked at it as a reunion of sorts. Love has played four NBA finals with James, including their 2016 Championship run against the Golden State Warriors. The two certainly shared a bond, which is visible as Love holds James in a headlock as some sort of revenge.

Many fans simply wanted to enjoy James’ dunk, sharing the clip and replying with positive messages. After all, it is not easy to make such a powerful dunk. Certain fans added that James is in playoffs mode, possibly hoping for a deep postseason run this year.

Did James regret the dunk over Love?

While fans had their fun sharing the clip on Twitter, James regretted the move a little. “I hate it had to be him. So I’m gonna take that one out of my posters, I didn’t like that one because that is my guy,” James said. The four-time NBA Champion also added that when he saw Love there, he hoped he would move.

At the end of the day, no one would want to dunk like that over a friend.

That being said, James finished the game with 38 points, while Love scored eight points off the bench.

Though the Lakers have won two out of their last three games, they are still placed ninth in the Western Conference. This qualifies the team for the play-in tournament, and not for the playoffs. With some games left, fans are hoping for more wins leading up to the playoffs.
