The Golden State Warriors were tested in their last game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The game ended 96-99 as the Warriors were handed a crushing defeat. The team are now placed 6th in the Western Conference and no longer in a position to afford such losses. Stephen Curry scored a total of 20 points in the game with 9 assists. He talked to the reporters post-game, detailing what went down on the court.

Stephen Curry explains what went wrong on the court
While there were several contributors to the Warriors losing the game, one that stands out are the fouls that were not called in time.
“At first it kind of felt like they were trying to take a foul. I got two people that kind of swiped at me,” Curry said during the post-game interview.

This made Curry change his side on the court, but the damage was done.
As per fans, there were several fouls ignored by the refs which ended up impacting the outcome of the game. Karl-Anthony Towns scored a game-winning three-pointer in the final few seconds of the game. The Wolves closed out the game by extending their lead from a free throw. The Warriors will next face the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night.

The Warriors’ path forward
Curry admitted that the game got ugly, especially in the final seconds. He said, “…that’s kind of like a playoff situation where it can swing a series if you…can grind out a win. However ugly it is, no matter how many turnovers you have.” He agreed that it was a “tough one” and that the team is looking forward to learning from this game and performing better in the upcoming games. Talking about his team’s ability to close games, Curry said that they have been able to close some really big games at home recently.
Although he added that they have had some struggles while on the road. “We just play…We’re capable, we know that!”, he said as he concluded his answer.
