

UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov has revealed his desire to fight Michael Jordan inside the octagon. The 33-year-old also stated that he firmly believes that he can easily take down a 6’6″ Michael Jordan. In fact, the former UFC lightweight champion revealed that if he were to ever fight any celebrity, it would be Michael Jordan.
Both UFC and NBA fans would definitely pay a lot of money to witness the clash of these two titans of their sports. Such a show would obviously entail Khabib Nurmegomedov returning from retirement. Therefore, he has to go back on his word to never return to the ring as a fighter.

On the other hand, Michael Jordan would need to make another comeback from retirement. Incidentally, Michael Jordan initially retired in 1993 after the untimely death of his father. However, after a brief stint with baseball, he returned to the NBA in 1995 to win three more NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls from 1996 to 1998.

Khabib Nurmagomedov openly admitted that he would easily take down Michael Jordan in a fight. He was asked in an interview before his induction into the UFC Hall of Fame which celebrity or fictional character he would like to face inside the octagon.

Khabib surprisingly named MJ. “Michael Jordan. Yes. Do you want to know why? Because I think I could take him down,” said the undefeated champion.

The reasoning he gave for his answer is also interesting. He admitted that he would fight Jordan because he feels he can easily take ‘His Airness’ down on the ground. However, standing at 5’10” and 155 pounds, Khabib really has his work cut out if he wants to take on a 6’6″ Michael Jordan. On the other hand, Jordan’s age might work in favor of the ground-and-pound king.

However, the likelihood of such a fight happening is probably non-existent. Khabib clearly meant the whole thing as a joke. Meanwhile, UFC fans will have to be content with watching Khabib on Islam Makhachev‘s corner.

Khabib has expressed his admiration for Jordan on several occasions. In fact, he once tried to offer a reward of three sheep to anybody who could introduce him to the Bulls legend.

Khabib retired from MMA with a perfect record of 29-0. On the other hand, Jordan boasts a perfect 6-0 record in NBA Finals. Their spotless records testify to their domination in their respective sports.
