Morant first flashed a gun for the second time in March. The NBA recently announced that they will suspend the Grizzlies star for 25 games starting next season. Many critics were in favor of the punishment, while some were not including Gilbert Arenas, the 41-year-old NBA veteran.

Arenas didn’t agree with the suspension. He didn’t mince his words when giving his take on the matter.

In an interview with TMZ Arenas said, “It’s too harsh. It’s public perception. The public wants him to be stopped. So, now the NBA comes in and says, ‘All right, we have to make it look reasonable.”

He described the decision as “unfair”. The 41-year-old clearly disagreed with the punishment received by Morant.

He thinks his actions don’t warrant a 25-game ban. It was heartening to see the former Grizzlies star coming to Morant’s defense. The verdict by the NBA remains quite contentious, as it divides the fraternity.
