Bodybuilding Legend, Who Made Shaquille O’Neal Lose 50 Lb, Ends Biggest Myth Around “Heavier Weights”

Bodybuilding legend and the man who trains Shaquille O’Neal, Rashid Shabazz, took to Instagram to break the myth about Heavier Weights. In a 45-second video, Shabazz also explained the benefits of high-intensity weight training. 

As his Instagram bio says, Rashid Shabazz is Shaquille O’Neal’s chief fitness officer. He is a celebrity fitness trainer and a bodybuilder. The fitness industry calls him Roc for his abdominal muscle definition and muscle frame. Roc is known for his client body transformation and quick fitness tip videos. Shaquille O’Neal makes a frequent appearance on Roc’s Instagram page.

Breaking the myth 

The common notion is that for a muscle group to get working, it needs to be taxed out. This can be done via heavy-weight training. But Roc states that using heavy weights isn’t necessary. He believes that high-intensity weight training is the way to go.

He claims that he uses high-intensity weight training and more repetition because it aids an individual with getting in deep separations which enables muscle movement.

He said, “Not giving your body a whole lot of breaks forces it, not only just endurance and stamina, but it forces it to beat that muscle up until it shapes the way you want.” 

Shaquille O’Neal and his transformation 

Recently, Shaquille O’Neal revealed about his weight loss and transformation. On Logan Paul’s podcast, Shaq claimed that when he saw himself in the mirror, he realized he didn’t want his stomach over his belt anymore. While taking a friendly dig at Charles Barkley, he stated that at one point, he had Barkley’s retirement body which he wanted to get rid of.

He said“I’m trying to take it back to 345. I want to have muscles everywhere, and I want to do an underwear ad with my sons [for] Fruit of the Loom, baby.”

Courtesy of Rashid Shabazz, Shaq’s workout regime entailed a mix of cardio and weight training. He said, “A simple old man workout. I can’t do all that CrossFit stuff.”
