Shaquille O’Neal is an NBA Hall of Famer, a TV analyst, and a father of six children. Barring his first daughter Taahirah, all of Shaq’s five children are from his marriage with TV personality Shaunie Henderson. The couple divorced in 2011 after a marriage of well over 9 years. While Shaq never remarried, Shaunie recently tied the knot with Keion Henderson. A pastor by trade Keion is the founder of the ‘Lighthouse Church’ in Houston, Texas. Now Shaunie Henderson, ‘The Basketball Wives’ star is living the life that she always envisioned.

Although Shaq still thinks of her as his wife, Shaunie has moved on from the Los Angeles Lakers legend. Dancing her troubles away, the TV star has transitioned into a new phase, away from all the limelight and media abuse she once received.

Shaunie and Shaq married in a private ceremony at the Beverly Hills Hotel in 2002. Having already mothered 2 of Shaq’s children by that point, the two seemed destined for a long and happy marriage. While this is what the two visualized, fate had something else in store. Giving birth to another two children by 2006, everything seemed to be smooth sailing. That is until Shaq filed for a divorce in 2007.

As the news of their divorce intensified, so did the media’s investigation of the two. Media outlets hounded Shaune as Shaq’s lawyers claimed the marriage between the two was “irretrievably broken.”

The two did try and reconcile a year later as Shaunie looked to dismiss the divorce. But the media still posed their questions as the two attempted to work things out once more. Claiming “irreconcilable differences” it was Shaunie that filed for divorce the second time around.  The couple separated for good in 2009 and finally put to rest their turbulent relationship.

Shaunie claims her worth as she dances her troubles away

Shaq has expressed his regret for not being a good husband on multiple occasions. Recently revealing that he was happy for Shaunie’s marriage, Shaq hopes that her current husband treats her better. While that might be the case, Shaunie recently took to Instagram to showcase her self-worth.

Seen dancing to Mary J. Blige’s ‘Be Happy‘ the 48-year-old captioned the post “Unapologetically own your worth, regardless of who sees it“.

Claiming her worth, was this a subtle dig at Shaq? Irrespective of the conjecture, it’s great to see Shaunie enjoying her new start. Fans can only hope that Shaq finds similar happiness again in his life.
