He said, “I think they should run it back. You can arguably look at this last season and I’m sure Kawhi can say ‘man, we could have an NBA championship if I don’t go down’. You know, they weren’t a 100% playing the Phoenix Suns. And you can potentially say that they could match up better with the Bucks in that finals series.”
Kawhi Leonard went down in the series against the Utah Jazz in Game 4. Hence, he could not be a part of the Clippers’ conference finals matchup against the Phoenix Suns.
Despite putting his best foot forward, Paul George could not take them over the Suns. Moreover, the Clippers may have to wait another year before being in the championship conversation because of Kawhi’s injury.
Can the Clippers win with ‘The Klaw’?
The Los Angeles Clippers made it to their first Conference Finals in franchise history. In addition, they did that with Kawhi being out for the last few games. Chris Bosh spoke about how Paul George stepped up and lived up to his nickname of ‘Playoff P’. He said:
“He [PG] came, and he showed up. And I think they all put on display why Kawhi should return. They have a great coaching staff, they’ve got great pieces. I think they can make a couple more moves. Maybe even be active in the trade market a little bit. But you definitely wanna run it back it back if you’re in that position.”
Bosh also believes that they can be one of the best teams in the NBA if they make the right moves.

Before going down, Kawhi put up 30 points and 2 steals in the playoffs. Even without ‘The Klaw,’ the Clippers looked like a strong team. So, with Kawhi they would surely have a much better chance to compete for the championship.
With a healthy Leonard, the Clippers are a feared side. With Paul George stepping up the way he did, it is a positive sign for the Clippers. To sum it up, if Kawhi decides to stay, the Clippers will surely be a championship-worthy team with him healthy.
