“I’d watch out for the Magic to be ready to make an offer if he’s restricted, knowing there’s a good chance Golden State is not going to match,” one Eastern Conference executive told Heavy Sports. The Warriors recently parted ways with Gary Payton II after winning the title. So the fans are concerned.

Can Stephen Curry and the Warriors retain Poole?

After the reports about the possibility of Jordan Poole hitting the free agency in 2023 came out, the fans are concerned. Poole is one of the fan favorites after his performances last year. A lot of fans consider him the heir to Stephen Curry. The two have identical playing styles. And fans left their feelings known on social media. Here are some of the reactions:

The fans are worried that Poole could follow the recent exit of Payton II. Owing to the young guard’s high potential, the fans want the Warriors to do everything in their power to retain Poole. But it is easier said than done. The Warriors are projected to have the second-highest payroll in the league this year ($194 million) behind the Clippers ($195 million). However, the fans are most excited about his uncanny similarities with superstar Stephen Curry. Like the former MVP, Poole can hit long threes without any trouble. Also, he can sink long rangers off the dribble like Curry. However, his 3P% was nowhere near what Curry averaged in his third season in the NBA. So he definitely has a long way to go in terms of his shot efficiency.
