Even though it isn’t necessary, Stephen Curry once again proved why he is considered the greatest shooter in the league. If being a part of the NBA All-Star team for the seventh time wasn’t enough, the Golden State Warriors superstar won the three-point contest as well. In fact, his teammate Klay Thompson couldn’t be happier with this achievement. While Steph and Klay haven’t played together in a while, the two always keep each other in high regard.

Klay Thompson honoured by the dedication

The Golden State Warriors‘ dynamic duo Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson were majorly responsible for the Warriors winning three championships in four years. The two are known as ‘Splash Brothers’ for their prowess in dropping the ball with utmost efficiency and accuracy, particularly from the three-point line.

However, Klay hasn’t played in more than a year. Although he was preparing to make his comeback this season, his recovery will take longer than expected. But Klay just received some good news post the All-Star Game. His teammate Steph won the three-point contest and even dedicated the win to him.

Thompson had won the same competition back in 2016. Since then, Curry is the first Warriors to win it. This achievement made Klay so happy that he took to Instagram, thanked Steph for the dedication and showed his respect as well.

He wrote, “I appreciate you big bro. Thanks for bringing her back where she belongs.” This is the second time Curry has won this competition after winning it in 2015, a year before Klay.

It was down to one shot, and Steph nailed it, beating Mike Conley from the Utah Jazz. In the first round itself, he ended up scoring the highest at the event, 31 points. Finally, in the second and fourth round, he went 3-of-5 from the top of the key, 4-of-10 from the corner and 8-of-10 from the wing.

Bulls’ Zach Lavine, Jazz’ Donovan Mitchell and both superstars from the Celtics, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown took part in the event. This contest took place just before the All-Star Game.

So, to top it off, Steph also dropped some crazy shots for Team LeBron. Whether it was from the half-court line or his no-look three, he impressed everyone with his skills.
