In the NBA, tunnel walks are no different from ramp walks, as players show off their sense of style and taste with designer clothes before giving an amazing performance on the court. Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry fulfilled a man’s dream by wearing a simple outfit. Notably, it was sourced from West Africa, while everyone else was dressed in designer clothes.

Every player and fan was excited to give their best during this NBA season championship 2022, especially during the Finals. There was a lot of excitement around the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics, and it was fun to see the players express themselves with their unique styles.

Providing the best performance on the court and exhibiting the best style off the court. Nowadays, basketball players are among the top celebrities, and some of them also have several passions outside of basketball. As one approaches the locker room from the underground arena entrance, one can clearly see the excitement.

The Golden State Warriors point guard has made use of this appearance to promote small businesses. There were a lot of comments floating on social media following this event, and fans are loving it. 

Warriors Superstar Stephen Curry promotes small businesses

Stephen Curry wore a jacket designed by Oakland clothing designer Akintunde “Tunde” Ahmad on one of the walks. While studying journalism and documentary film, Tunde completed his education in Ghana and enrolled at Yale in 2016 as a junior.

“My background is not in fashion at all. This is something I stumbled into,” said Tunde. Currently, the clothing line is fully sourced from West Africa. The clothes are produced by the local people there. Also, it was made and sewn in West Africa only.

Having previously endorsed local brands and worn them before, Stephen has used his celebrity status to help others. The star player has previously worked with Sherri McMullen, the owner of Oakland boutique McMullen.

Curry and his stylist, Sheraine Robinson, have even received some designer clothes from this brand. “His camp reached out to see if I was available to style him for Black History Month, specifically with a focus on highlighting underrepresented Black designers,said McMullen.
