Luka Doncic is a once-in-a-generation player. He has captivated fans ever since coming to the league in 2018. He has now led Dallas to their first Western Conference Finals since their title-winning run in 2011.

During the 2018 NBA Draft night, Dallas traded up for the third overall pick to take Luka. His mother accompanied Luka for the Draft night and a certain Warriors veteran had a very specific comment for the night.

Luka’s mother, Mirjam Poterbin, was the star of the night as she captured many headlines the following day. One of her admirers was the current Warriors player Andre Iguodala who tweeted about it. She is a former model and met Luka’s father, who was also a basketball player.

But they both eventually split in 2008 when Luka was nine. Luka has since then stayed with his mother. When Luka shifted to Madrid, his mother went with him. She also accompanied Luka to Dallas when they eventually moved to the United States. Since his move to the Mavericks, he has looked unstoppable and is sure to be a top star in the league for a long time.

Luka Doncic – The face of the league?

Luka hit the league running ever since making his debut for the Mavs in 2018. It seems like he has taken over the mantle of the franchise from former franchise player Dirk Nowitzki, who retired at the end of Luka’s rookie campaign.
