Jon traced back the beginning of his music career to the 90s in Atlanta, when he established himself as a popular DJ.“I was so hot as a DJ in Atlanta, so Jermaine Dupri came to me and he was like, ‘I am starting my record label So So def. I want you to work for me. Do street promotions and A and R.’ I didn’t even know what A and R was, because I wasn’t in the music industry, I was just getting drunk DJing, living in my mama’s basement and so he gave me my first real industry job,” said Lil Jon.
Despite his humble beginnings, Lil Jon went on to become one of the iconic hip-hop figures of the day. Turns out Lil Jon has not just collaborated with rappers like Ludacris and Jermaine Dupri, but has teamed up with Shaquille O’Neal.
