The NBA Summer League is in full swing. As prospective talents try to make a name for themselves, a few of them just want a place on the roster. While the players are trying to impress their respective teams, one player certainly wouldn’t have done so with his antics. A former teammate of James Harden didn’t earn plaudits for his embarrassing moment which was caught on camera.

During the Los Angeles Lakers’ game against the Dallas Mavericks, Mason Jones had an embarrassing moment. While it could have been passed over in someone else’s case, the commentators specifically mentioned the incident. It was a moment to forget for the former Houston Rockets player.

Jones had a decent stat line as he posted 8 points to go along with 4 assists in 19 minutes of action. But his flop was the moment that caught everyone’s eyes. After replays showed what Jones had done, the commentators couldn’t help but laugh. One of them said, “Come on, man. Mason Jones. We playing soccer or basketball?”

The Los Angeles Lakers came away with a 95-84 win behind solid contributions from multiple players. Unfortunately, the most talked about moment in the game came courtesy of Mason Jones. Jones played the majority of last season for the Lakers’ G-League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers.

Jones was picked up by James Harden‘s Rockets after going undrafted in the 2020 NBA Draft. After spending a little over three months with the Houston Rockets, he was waived. However, the Philadelphia 76ers picked him up on a two-way contract for around two months. In November 2021, Jones then signed with the South Bay Lakers.

The former teammate of James Harden has been impressive

The Lakers have gone 5-3 over their eight Summer League games so far and have had many impressive performances. Jones has been one of them. After putting up 8 points and 6 assists in the first game, he had 13 points to close out the California leg of the Summer League.
