With all the drama that happened, it all seemed over when Ben Simmons went back. However, it looks like that may not be anything genuine. Simmons returned to the 76ers practice and had the chance to be with the team. Looking at this most people felt his relationship with the organisation is improving. But, recent events show how he is still not fond of Philadelphia.

Soon after the playoffs, Simmons went to train all summer. He even decided not to participate in the Olympics. Most thought he would improve over the summer and return to Philadelphia. However, that was far from what happened. The Australian star cut all connections and refused to speak with the organisation. He did not want to play a single game for them and grew apart.

Ben Simmons does not participate in team huddle

After missing out on preseason and training camp, his exit from the organisation looked inevitable. But after news of major fines came in, Simmons had to show up. Hence, he recently returned to training with the team and all seemed over. Doc Rivers even said that the Simmons’ chemistry with the team is growing. His actions, on the other hand, speak a different story.

After the Philadelphia 76ers finished practice, everyone came in for a group huddle. While everyone participated in the teams’ huddle, Simmons did not put his hand in. Moreover, he quickly exited once practice was over, while others stayed around for shooting. This does suggest that his relationship with the organisation may not be the best just yet.

Ben Simmons was very straight forward about how he felt all summer long. Hence, his actions come as no surprise. There can be one of two things taking place as of now. First, Simmons showed up just to avoid big fines and will force his move out like James Harden. Secondly, he may be taking a slow approach in understanding his position coming to the team and the organisation itself.

Whatever the case maybe, Philadelphia will hope that the star decides to stay. Simmons is one of the best defenders in the league. Being a DPOY candidate, his impact comes much more than on the offense. In addition, his playmaking skills surpass most guards in the league as well. Hence, the 76ers will hope to please the star before regular season gets underway.
