The playoff intensity is always in the air as competition rises. Unfortunately, it got out of hand in the Game 5 matchup between Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets. Being on the brink of elimination, the Nuggets aren’t going down without a fight. But Aaron Gordon and Draymond Green got too chippy in the process. After a charge call, Gordon took out his frustrations on Green by dunking the ball on top of him.

The Golden State Warriors came out powerful in the first three games against the Denver Nuggets. Notably, Denver had no answer except the dominance of Nikola Jokic. With a sweep looming over, the Joker fought back and his supporting cast came along as well. But early in Game 4, the heat of the battle got to both Gordon and Green. The two had a war of words before being separated by their teams.

Now, even a few days after the incident, Gordon isn’t one to forget. He went right at the former DPOY and showed not an ounce of respect.

Warriors and Nuggets matchup getting hot

The Nuggets are in a contest for their season with their playoff journey on the line. Unlike the first three games, the fight is alive in this face-off. Both the teams are going back and forth as the competition keeps growing. But like many times, playoff rivalries also tend to heighten during this time. And Gordon and Draymond Green’s exchange in Game 4 has continued tonight.

After a charging violation, Gordon did not stop in his tracks. With Green on the ground, Aaron Gordon finished a resounding slam on top of him before making his way back. However, Green didn’t let him off as he tried to trip the Nuggets forward.

While things aren’t peaceful between the two Western conference giants, both teams stand even at the half waypoint. Gordon’s aggressive actions are showing off in his performance tonight. The Nuggets forward is leading the team with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block. The reigning MVP Nikola Jokic has already accumulated a double-double. Incidentally, the Joker is yet to put his foot on the gas as he has put up 12 points and 13 rebounds so far. Conversely, DeMarcus Cousins can’t seem to miss tonight as he has 8 points off the bench making 3 of his 4 shots.

For the Warriors, they are taking their small-ball lineup for a spin. Back into his starting role, Stephen Curry is flourishing once again. The two-time MVP has scored 10 points in the contest so far. Klay Thompson and Jordan Polle are fulfilling their role to perfection as well. The guard duo has combined for 17 points so far. Green is putting his defensive edge all over the Nuggets gathering a steal and 3 blocks already.
