The Golden State Warriors seem to be struggling with Stephen Curry out of the picture. Following Curry’s shoulder injury, the Warriors have played four games to date in his absence and lost three of them. With their best player on the sideline, the Warriors arguably look lost on the court, and fans are not making it any easier. The recent game against the Brooklyn Nets brought back some bitter memories for Draymond Green and his Warriors teammate.

The Golden State Warriors faced the Brooklyn Nets on December 21, 2022, at the Barclays Center. The game proved to be a disappointing one for the Warriors as they lost to the Nets by a significant point difference. Additionally, the constant reminder from the Nets fans of a particular Warriors incident only made it harder for the defending champions.

Brooklyn Nets fans might have just helped their team win over the Golden State Warriors. While the credit for the win obviously goes to the Nets stars, it might be safe to say that their fans sure did help a little. A short clip from the game showed Nets fans reminding Jordan Poole of the time Draymond Green punched him in the off-season. The fans were heard chanting, ‘Draymond punched you’ repeatedly while Poole made a successful shot. It didn’t seem as though Poole heard them and if he did, he chose to ignore it.

The altercation between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole created a huge controversy at the time. The matter turned worse after a video of the physical dispute was leaked online.

While the Warriors seemed to have moved on from the incident, it sure has bought some changes in the team. Green, who is a four-time NBA All-Star, recently reflected on his relationship with his teammates. Just before the Warriors vs Boston Celtics game on December 12, Green stated that he had to work his way back into the team.

“It’s been very different, I’m not gonna lie. I’ve had to kind of work my way back into (being a leader). Just – you don’t wanna come overbearing to people when you’ve made a mistake like I’ve made. And I’ve understood that, I’ve tried to creep my way back in. But I think it’s starting to go full force now,” Green said during an interview with ESPN’s NBA Countdown.
