WATCH: Ejection of Warriors’ Draymond Green That Cost Them the Game Against Hornets

Golden State Warriors have been on the wrong side of fate for quite a while now and are continuing to lose close battles. First, they narrowly lost against an underdog Orlando Magic, and then they let the Charlotte Hornets run away with a victory in the last seconds of their latest match.
The Warriors took the primary blow of the game even before the tipoff when the team announced Stephen Curry won’t be playing. GSW scratched the star point guard at the last moment after he complained about some health issues. As if that was not enough, the clutch time fiasco with Draymond Green took all of it away from them.

With just 10 seconds remaining in the match, the Warriors were leading 100-98, when something nasty happened. The 30-YO NBA veteran found himself involved in a rough tangle with Gordon Hayward after a jump ball at the mid-court. Just as they fought for the ball possession, Gordon called a controversial timeout.
Now, Draymond was convinced that he had the ball with him when the Hornets’ star called a time-out and started yelling at the officials.

Plus, it gave Terry Rozier two free throws that he successfully converted. Later, the 26-YO guard became the match-winner for the Hornets as he dropped a heavily defended buzzer-beater to turn the score 102-100 in the Hornets’ favor.

It is very important for the Warriors to win against the teams that are in the lower leg of the table if they are to stay in the Top 8. The team is already playing without Klay Thompson and James Wiseman (for quite a while) and has shown the depth to make it into the postseason.
But losing these games can put extreme pressure on Stephen Curry to show up every night and perform. Even the coach, Steve Kerr, later accepted, “Draymond can’t do that. He knows that.”
In the game, Mychal Mulder had entered to fill for Curry and managed just 2 points. It was a high-profile effort from Kelly Oubre (25 points) and the Warriors bench that combined for 46 points that got wasted.
