The NBA is being greatly affected as players continue to enter the health and safety protocols. However, as the saying goes, the show must continue and the Los Angeles Lakers are once again up against a team that defeated them last time they met. Till now, it looks like the Minnesota Timberwolves might be going for 2/2 against the Lakers. However, nothing beats Isaiah Thomas making a comeback for the purple and gold during this game.

Isaiah Thomas gets the respect he deserves as he scores the first bucket
Both teams entered this matchup with momentum on their side. The Minnesota Timberwolves have won their last two games, while the Lakers are coming after winning three straight matches. If this campaign has taught us anything, the Lakers have been far from consistent. Although they have been able to pull themselves out of the mess they were in before, there is a long road ahead of them.

In fact, Russell Westbrook had also been sidelined until he was cleared on Friday to play against Minnesota. On the other hand, the Timberwolves are one of those lucky teams that have been completely healthy so far. This has certainly helped them remain in contention for the playoffs.
While the Lakers are trying to revive themselves in the West, they also helped an NBA player make a comeback against the Timberwolves. When the second quarter began, Isaiah Thomas, who signed a ten-day contract with the Lakers, dropped his first basket after his last game back in April 2021 with the New Orleans Pelicans. He got the respect he deserves as Minnesota fans stood up to applaud him.

By half-time, things aren’t looking good for the LA team. They have been looking to take the lead for a while now but the Timberwolves are doing a great job preventing that from happening. In the first two quarters, they were able to outscore LeBron James and Co. while keeping the game intense to the brim.

As usual, Karl-Anthony Towns has been leading the way for them. However, the Lakers players are yet to reach double digits. Their big three with Anthony Davis, James, and Russell Westbrook have been having a slow night.
We all know that the purple and gold take pride in coming back harder in the second half. This is the hope that fans have been holding on to. Thomas’ comeback may have given them motivation, but they’ll need a lot more than that to defeat these opponents.
