The Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers matchup has been one that fans have been waiting for a while now. Finally, Christmas Day is here and the two teams initially assumed to be the ones facing each other in the NBA Finals this season, have locked horns. However, if the purple and gold fans thought that things couldn’t get any worse for them, they just did. James Harden just got a flagrant for his brutal foul on Talen Horton-Tucker.

This matchup has been getting a lot of attention, ever since the season began. However, only one of the teams has lived up to the expectations set upon them, and that’s the Brooklyn Nets. So far, they have been leading the Eastern Conference with their 22-9 record, despite facing some of the same issues the Lakers did.

However, the Lakers have struggled to find their rhythm and consistency, with a 16-17 record prior to this match, entered this game with four losses behind them. Both teams have players going in and out of the league’s health and safety protocols and yet were able to manage to keep the game head to head.

Unfortunately, during the game, Harden became a little too aggressive with Lakers’ Talen Horton-Tucker. James Harden was resorting to some of his old tricks to free up some space and get a jumper. Tucker had to bear the consequences of it by getting hit.

The Brooklyn Nets grabbed a vital win against the Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers may have had to face an embarrassing 122-115 defeat against the Nets, but they really did put up a fight. LeBron James went all out with his 39 point performance, while Russell Westbrook put up 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists.

However, the Nets had James Harden and Patty Mills, ending the night with 36 and 34 points, respectively, which was enough to get them past the finish line first. Although this game was supposed to be a sneak peek of what could be a Finals matchup, but with the current outbreak, anything could happen.
