Michael Jordan and Dwyane Wade are some of the greatest shooting guards ever to play the sport. Jordan is widely recognized as the greatest of all time, while Wade is a certifiable Heat legend. Both have won multiple NBA titles for their team. The Bulls and the Heat were dynasties under them. Both of them dazzled the league. Jordan’s fadeaway jump shots and dunks spared no one.

Wade’s layups were a thing of beauty. His freeze fake left defenders frozen. Hence, it was obvious that both recognized each other as great players. Their peaks never corresponded with each other, but as seen recently, there is a lot of love between them.

Wade was seen participating in an NBA Cares Initiative. Jordan surprised the Heat shooting guard by helping him distribute the goods along with the other volunteers.

Hence, Jordan had to come in and help those volunteers too. He is the owner of the local NBA franchise, the Charlotte Hornets, and helped Wade and the volunteers in distributing food. It is no surprise that there is much brotherly love between both.

Why does Michael Jordan think so highly of Dwyane Wade?

Jordan has often complimented Wade for his contributions to the game. After Wade’s retirement, Jordan paid tribute to him by saying, “I’m very happy for him. He’s done an unbelievable job for the game of basketball. I don’t anticipate anybody forgetting about this guy.” Wade has also given compliments to Jordan, calling him “the first icon of basketball”.

Jordan is often considered to be the best shooting guard ever. Wade is one of the candidates to be considered second best. He and Kobe are usually the names bandied about in these discussions.

Wade was Finals MVP in 2006 and had a monster series that year against the Dallas Mavericks. He scored almost 35 points at 46.8% shot accuracy. These included the 42 and 43-point performances in Games 3 and 5. He shot above 50% in both of those games. Wade is also a 13 All-Star and was the scoring champion in 2008. He scored 30.7 points per game that season.
