The Boston Celtics played against the Denver Nuggets on Friday night. The Celtics won with a final score point of 131-112. As with most games, some players did better than others. Others made history. Others got trashed online. However, there was a particular play that made headlines across the NBA world. The play in question also triggered a foul and fans have been debating about the call.

During the game, the Nuggets’ Aaron Gordon ran to the board. Celtics’ Grant Williams was seen guarding it. Gordon, who led with his shoulder, pushed and slammed into Williams. The latter fell to the ground. The crowd gasped as Williams raised his hands questioning the shove. His teammates also couldn’t understand what happened. The referee came in, while Aaron Gordon was seen casually walking off.

Grant Williams then made headlines because he wedged a free throw. The ball got stuck between the backboard and the rim. A stunned Williams was pitied by the Denver Nuggets.

At the end of the first half, Williams also hurt his leg, after getting tangled with Nikola Jokic.

NBA and its never-ending competition

However, that wasn’t the only duel that took place in tonight’s game.

Jayson Tatum scored an incredible 34 points in the game whereas Nikola Jokic scored 29 points. Tatum’s 30+ performance is his fourth strong performance in his last five games. With consecutive good games for the star, he arguably gave Jokic a run for his money.
