The Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic has lit up the entire NBA with his play. The Slovenian has been one of the best players in the league this season and he came into the news for all the wrong reasons recently.

During the matchup between the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Clippers, Doncic and Terance Mann got into an altercation. The officials were forced to penalize both the players during the fourth quarter of play. Interestingly enough, the two have a long history of rivalry that dates back to 2018.

Luka Doncic gets into a fight mid-game

Although Luke Doncic might be one of the most likable players in the league, the Slovenian lost his cool recently. When his team, the Dallas Mavericks took on the Clippers, he almost came to blows during the game.

Doncic had an altercation with Clippers star Terance Mann as the two were stopped by the officials and teammates. Thankfully the fight did not heat up due to the quick reaction from the match officials. 

The incident heated up after Mann started to trash talk Doncic, which was not taken well by the Slovenian. Luka continued to talk with Mann and the match officials intervened.

Doncic talked about his thoughts on the decision by the officials during the post-match press conference. He said, “When a guy is chirping to me the whole game, the first thing I say back and the refs give a double technical. I don’t think I deserve that.“

The two players have a long history

Although this incident mid-game might just seem like a one-off incident, the rivalry between the two players goes way back. The trouble between the two started during the 2018-19 preseason when they almost went all out.

Whether it is a regular-season or preseason game, the two are bound to go against each other. A similar incident happened a few months ago when the Mavericks took on the Clippers. 

Luka Doncic called Mann “too small” which led to a technical foul for the Mavericks star.

This has quickly developed into one of the most heated rivalries in the NBA. The two stars have numerous heated moments on the court, much to the entertainment of the crowd and the disappointment of the coaches.
