The Washington Wizards have been a surprise package in the 2020-21 NBA season. They’d lose a close battle against a mediocre team and surprisingly win against one of the top teams.

Recently, they defeated the #5 ranked Boston Celtics 104-91 in a game that they led from the very beginning.

The 25-point game by Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker could not see the light of the day because the Wizards stayed brilliant with their defense.

However, there was a point in the game where Russell Westbrook seemed completely frustrated with himself.

When Russell Westbrook could not believe his eyes

The triple-double leader for Wizards, Russ, missed recording yet another by just one rebound. However, that probably didn’t hurt this point guard as much as missing a shot did.

He was attempting a free throw in the game when he surprisingly air-balled it. The reaction on Russell Westbrook’s face was priceless, as one could sense how frustrated he was.

The 32-YO player has never been a force from the FT line, but his precision is only decreasing year-on-year. He had scored FTs at 84.5% in 2016-17 down to 65.5% in the running season.

Twenty percent is quite a fall, and he would want to work on covering that deficit. Earlier, Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo had also shown rustiness from the same zone. Perhaps, they must take some video sessions to learn it the Steve Nash way.

The Celtics are not having a good time as they’ve lost four of their last five games. That the Wizards were able to limit Jayson Tatum to just six points really helped their case. Also, the C’s struggled from behind the three-point line with just over 25% conversion.

On the other hand, the Wizards had their main man, Bradley Beal, dropping 35 points with the help of four threes. He looked dangerous from both ends and received decent help from the likes of Robin Lopez and Deni Avdija coming off the bench.

The 27-YO player gave 33 minutes, the highest from his side, in the game and later said, “I put so much pressure on myself to do well, try to be the best I can possibly be, try to come out to win every game. I just needed a little break. You can’t do everything by yourself.”
