Kobe shared an incident where he was proud of his daughter. He said, “There was a game we had, where she gets a steal and she goes to the free-throw line with a chance to win the game. At these tournaments, there are kids everywhere and there is parent everywhere.”

“I’m looking at her and I was gonna call timeout. Just so I can give her advice and calm her nerves… You know what let me just see what she does in a situation. And she goes to the free-throw line and everybody behind holds up the camera phone waiting to see.”

“She looks up and she looks at it and she closed her eyes and she takes a couple of deep breaths. She just completely calms down, she goes to the free-throw line, drains them, wins the game. I was like, all right man.”

Kobe was incredibly proud of Gigi at that moment as she displayed incredible nerves to win the game. Seems like she learned it from the great Black Mamba himself. It would have been very exciting to see Gigi develop and see Kobe coaching. Unfortunately, though, we will never get to know what could have happened, as we tragically lost both Kobe and Gigi in 2020.
