The 12th-seed Lakers go up against the Washington Wizards in their latest matchup. All the offensive load will seemingly fall upon LeBron James. In the Lakers’ last matchup, the team lost their leading scorer, Anthony Davis, due to a foot injury while playing against the Denver Nuggets. Although the Wizards may not have enough firepower, will the Lakers come out on top after dealing with yet another injury?

At 38 years of age, LeBron is still playing at a very high level. He has been doing everything in his power to keep the team afloat. Yet, there have been times when his efforts have gone in vain.

Lakers sustain another injury

Anthony Davis on the other hand has been ruled out of the game against the Washington Wizards. According to the latest reports, Davis is out for a month due to an injury to his right foot after he landed awkwardly after a layup.

The Lakers may have to sustain yet another injury piling up to their list. Austin Reaves was also seen wobbling off the floor during the third quarter. He seemed to be in a lot of pain and headed straight to the locker room as soon as he got injured.

This is surely a point of concern for the Los Angeles Lakers. Austin Reaves as well as Lonnie Walker IV have been performing well so as to help out James and Davis on the offensive side of the floor.

Reaves helps the Lakers with his much-needed three-point shooting to stretch the floor. While Walker uses his speed, agility, and athleticism to get past defenders to score a bunch of points for the team.

Who will help out LeBron James now?

Without Austin Reaves in the lineup, the Lakers may not have another shooter who could help the team with their long-range shooting. The decision to move Russell Westbrook to the bench has worked out so far for Darvin Ham.

He has become more efficient coming off from the bench instead of being in the starting lineup for the Los Angeles Lakers. Westbrook has been giving out double-digit performances ever since he has become the leader of the team’s second unit.

However, with no Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves, the Lakers bench does not have enough depth to help out LeBron James on the offensive end of the floor. Hopefully, the injury to Reaves turns out to be a small one and he returns to the floor as soon as possible.
