There is arguably no greater joy in this world than making your parents beam with pride. And what better way than to go on an international platform and represent your country? In fact, that’s just one of the many accolades that Michael Jordan has achieved in his life. Along with being part of the 1992 Dream Team, the NBA legend is considered by many as the GOAT of basketball. And he is indeed one of the best players in the history of the NBA.

Time and again, His Airness has credited his parents for his success. In The Last Dance documentary, Michael Jordan’s mother, Deloris Jordan revealed that her son had once written a letter to her while he was playing college basketball.

“My mom, she kept all my letters. It’s somewhat embarrassing, but yet it’s refreshing that I took the time to write a letter to say how much I love my mom and, you know, what I needed in college,” said Jordan to GMA.

The former Bulls player further said that his parents were hardworking and they had passed on the same values to their children.

Michael Jordan’s mother encourages NBA mothers to help bring positivity in society

Having a son who is an NBA legend and is admired by so many people across the world had ignited a sense of awareness in MJ’s mother. During the All-Star weekend, Deloris Jordan gave a motivating speech to the mothers of active NBA players. The event was held at a steakhouse in Charlotte, North Carolina. During the event, Deloris addressed the attendees and urged them to come forth and joined their hands together. She further added that with their added resources, they could bring positive change to the society.

“We are blessed to be a blessing[to others],” said Deloris.

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry’s mom, Sonya Curry and Phoenix Suns player Chris Paul’s mother Robin Paul had helped organize the event. Sonya referred to Deloris’ speech and agreed that they were indeed blessed.

Agreeing with Deloris’ statement, Sonya Curry stressed the importance of coming together as a community and impacting other peoples’ lives. She added that such a reunion has been long overdue and is essential to bring positive change in our neighborhoods.
