After an utterly disappointing season, the Lakers are in search of answers, and that too quickly. They need reinforcements in many areas to bounce back from the embarrassment of a season. LeBron James was on the money and performing well in the 50 odd games he played, but the same can not be said about the rest of the team.

Frank Vogel could not bring out the best out of the team this season and they failed to qualify for even the play-in tournament. So naturally, the first course of action towards change was to have a change at the top. The Lakers are now in search of a new head coach who can manage the roster and bring out the best in everyone. Although changing only the head coach would not solve all the problems. The Lakers desperately need fruitful recruitments.

If the Lakers trade Kendrick Nunn and Talen Horton-Tucker, the possible/hypothetical players that might join the roster are Duncan Robinson, Malik Beasley, and Christian Wood. If the Lakers can manage the outgoings of the players that have not been up to the mark and go after the likes of players with the correct energy, they can move forward in the right direction.

TRADE RUMORS: Lakers Express Interest In Trading For Knicks’ 11 Year NBA Veteran

Kendrick Nunn missed the whole season due to a knee injury with the Lakers, but with the Heat last season, he had a decent start. On the other hand, Talen Horton Tucker has shown glimpses of talent during his time with the Lakers. Not sure if the Lakers would actually want to trade him out because, at only 21 years of age, he still can improve a lot with the right group of players.

NBA fans react to potential names joining LeBron James at the Lakers

Fans react to the possibility of 3 hypothetical names Lakers might add to the roster to bring support for LeBron in the offseason.

“It might be tough to get anything done without giving up a future first-rounder, and the Lakers are short in that respect—they can’t trade a pick until 2027, and are reluctant to give up picks that far out. But it won’t be impossible.”

“The exec threw out, hypothetically, Duncan Robinson of the [Miami] Heat, Malik Beasley of the [Minnesota] Timberwolves, and Christian Wood of the [Houston] Rockets.” Sean Deveney of Heavy.com reported.

The Heat developed Robinson after signing him as an undrafted free agent. His specialties include long-range shooting ability. However, his role in the Heat’s lineup has recently become of less importance. Beasley has been in the NBA for six seasons, having played for both the Nuggets and Timberwolves. His scoring average dropped this season after he became an option from the bench.

Out of the three, the trade of Christian Wood is what would benefit both parties. With the Rockets, Wood averaged 21.0 points per game during the 2020-21 season and 17.9 points per game this season.

This is all still very hypothetical and there is a chance that none of the three end up at the Lakers. However, one thing that is sure is that the LeBron James’ Lakers need changes and there will be some in order to get back to winning ways.
