After 50 years of waiting, the Milwaukee Bucks are champions. Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks defied all odds and defeated the Phoenix Suns in 6 games. They won Game 6 105-98 and are the 2021 NBA champions with Giannis receiving the honors of Finals MVP.

The ‘Greek Freak’ was surely the star as he scored 5o points in a series clinching game. Moreover, he averaged 35 points, 13 rebounds and five assists throughout the series and deservedly was named the Finals MVP. Post game, Giannis spoke about staying in Milwaukee and winning a championship the hard way.

Giannis chose the hard way

There were a lot of questions over Antetokounmpo’s future in the last season. Many believed he would join a team where he could have a better chance of winning. However, he decided to stay loyal and resigned with the Bucks. That surely paid its dues as he is now an NBA champion.

Following the historic win, Giannis opened up about his decision to stay and how he wanted to do it the hard way. He said, “I could go to a superteam and just do my part and win a championship but this is the hard way to do it and this is the way we chose to do it. And we did it, we f**king did it.”

The Bucks have surely had a hard road with a little luck on their side. However, they were equally affected as Giannis picked up an injury in the series against Hawks. The Bucks fought through every series despite being at a disadvantage. They went to seven games with the Nets, win against the Hawks without Giannis and now came back from 0-2 to win the NBA finals.

A hard fought championship for Milwaukee no doubt, and they deserve every bit of it.

Giannis Antetokounmpo lives up to his promise

Back in 2014, a young Giannis made a promise that he will not leave the city of Milwaukee until it is a team that can compete. Two MVPs later, Giannis, along with Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday has finally brought a championship to his city. Surprisingly, in 2014 the Bucks finished with the worst record in NBA.

Moreover, that was their worst season in franchise history. That is when the ‘Greek Freak’ made a commitment to Milwaukee and he worked hard to get to this point. At 26, he is now a NBA champion and a Finals MVP. He has fulfilled his promise he made seven years ago.

He committed to them even after hardships and has finally received the reward for his loyalty. Giannis fought through injury to ensure that he brings a championship to Milwaukee. He left everything on the floor and proved that loyalty pays off.
