“We Going Broke”: NBA Twitter Left in Shambles as Lakers Fan Becomes $25K Richer After Nailing Half-Court Stunner

A Los Angeles Lakers fan recently won a prize that he probably didn’t expect. For the second consecutive game, a fan has made a half-court shot that has resulted in them winning thousands of dollars. Following a shot from 47 feet away, one lucky man won an amount of $25,000. 

From the inception of this challenge in 2006, this fan is the 13th contestant to make this shot successfully. As soon as this shot went in, the Lakers bench went wild in celebration. Earlier, another fan had made a similar shot that won a larger sum of $75,000.

One Lakers fan made history on Monday night by shooting an incredible shot that won him $75,000. Jamie Murry, who works for Amazon, won the contest. “I had my little fangirl moment,” according to Murry. “I was just so excited to hug [Davis,] see everybody. It was just a crazy experience.” 

Following this, in the Lakers’ next home game, a fan by the name of Josh sunk another half-court shot to win $25,000. The NBA world went crazy online and shared their thoughts on the incredible shot.

Some fans even mentioned how the Lakers aren’t in such good shape this season, but at least their fans are making history.

Some appreciated the talent, while others noted how the Lakers might go broke after seeing contestants such as this, particularly after Murry’s win. From “We going broke” to some pointing out “Laker fans shooting a higher % from 3 than the actual team.”

The Lakers win against the Portland Trail Blazers

After losing to the Indiana Pacers on Monday, the Los Angeles Lakers got back to winning ways after beating the Portland Trail Blazers. The game ended with a score of 128-109. LeBron James added 31 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds on the night.

He was accompanied by Anthony Davis, who posted a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds. Austin Reeves scored a season-high 22 points as well.
