Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were a Brooklyn Nets duo that seemed unstoppable at the start of the 2020 season. Since the KD trade from the Golden State Warriors and Irving from the Boston Celtics, fans have desperately been waiting for the duo to play together. One thing or the other, both the players couldn’t clock in as much time together.

With injuries happening already, the duo couldn’t play much time together. On top of that, Irving’s vaccination saga further delayed his return. When James Harden joined forces with the duo, fans were already dreaming of victory parades.

But again, because of the same reason, they couldn’t play together. Later, James Harden even got traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. By the end of the last season, Irving and KD both had demanded a trade from the Nets. Fans had lost almost every hope of seeing the two together. Now, there seems some hope regenerating that the duo might continue playing together.

Kevin Durant starts working with Kyrie Irving again

It was felt that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving’s relationship was nearing its dusk. It was as if there was no chance of the duo’s return to play together. Both the superstars had demanded a change from the Nets nation. However, Kyrie Irving stunned the NBA world by?opting in for his player option with the Nets. This still makes him available for a trade, but one happening seems pretty unlikely at the moment.
