Despite making huge strides in the right direction for the past few years, the WNBA still has a long way to go. Almost a month ago, WNBA star Candace Parker sat down with Draymond Green to discuss a lot about the inner workings of the league, which highlighted some unflattering realities of the women’s sport. While exposing the WNBA’s harsh realities, Parker revealed a ‘locker room’ dream she has always had. As a result, the WNBA star’s team, the Las Vegas Aces, decided to fulfill her longtime dream.

Candace Parker won her second NBA title in 2021, cementing her place as one of the league’s greatest. However, she took the flight to Las Vegas, after failing to replicate her fortunes in 2022. It seems like for the time being her decision is turning out to be a wise one, as the WNBA icon was recently presented with a thoughtful gift by her team.

According to Parker, despite her seniority and Champion status, she wasn’t provided a locker room in her entire career in the league

“I have not had a locker in my entire career. I’ve been in the WNBA for 16 years and I have not had a locker where it has my name on it and I can leave my sh*t and then come back and know my sh*t gonna be there, “ said Parker. It was a truly disappointing situation for Parker, where she was demanding one of the most basic necessities for an athlete. “My thing is that I deserve it, right?’ she had added.

Fast forward to today, the Las Vegas Aces have made sure that this issue doesn’t plague the WNBA icon anymore. They recently took to Twitter to showcase their star player Candace Parker’s brand new locker room, complete with her sparkling no. 3 jersey hanging up on display. Although it is a small step, WNBA fans would be happy with Parker’s treatment at her new home.
