Dwyane Wade had to go through his fair share of problems when the Miami Heat legend filed for a gender and name change petition on behalf of his daughter Zaya. The 15-year-old budding model drew the world’s attention when she decided to come out as a transgender in 2020. Following the petition, Wade and his family faced opposition from his ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches. However, they finally rejoiced when the court granted his petition. Putting all that behind, the three-time NBA champion recently gushed over Zaya’s latest achievement.

After Wade filed the petition, his case was counteracted when Funches appealed to the court to reject his plea. She reasoned that Wade was manipulating Zaya for monetary gains. Furthermore, she stated that the petition should not be granted until Zaya turned 18 years old. It has been over a month since the legal changes were made and the NBA veteran can’t be happier for his daughter.
