Several hours after Biden’s announcement, Griner’s wife Cherelle rushed to the Arizona airport to welcome Griner back home. Fans express their disapproval over Griner’s contract extension
It has been over two months since Brittney Griner was released from Russia in exchange for arms dealer Viktor Bout. Since then, Griner has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported her and actively spoke for US citizens, including Paul Whelan, who are currently serving time in different countries.

Amid all that, news of Griner’s one-year deal with the Phoenix Mercury was released. Additionally, Griner was also assured that she would be receiving her full salary despite missing the entire season.
