‘We’re on Cloud 10’: Milwaukee Bucks President Reflects on Their 2020–21 NBA Championship Journey

It’s the dream of every NBA team to win the Larry O’Brien trophy at the end of the season. Likewise, when a team does, it is the best feeling in the world. The 2021 NBA champions, Milwaukee Bucks, went through a similar rush of feelings after winning Game 6 against Phoenix.
This was the Bucks’ first NBA title since 1971. Moreover, it was their first NBA finals appearance since 1974. So, the Milwaukee Bucks ended a 50 year championship drought in the city and brought home the trophy.
Giannis Antetokounmpo received finals MVP honors as he averaged 35 points and 13 rebounds in the series. He saved his best for last, scoring 50 points in the series clincher. Antetokounmpo and the Bucks had a wild journey through the playoffs, but they kept their composure together.

Milwaukee Bucks President, Peter Feigin was recently on the SiriusXM radio speaking about their journey and what it was like winning the NBA title after so long. Notably, this was the first championship for every player on the Milwaukee Bucks roster.

Seemed like an endless journey for Milwaukee Bucks
While talking on SiriusXM, Peter Feigin revealed that it seemed like an endless journey in the playoffs until the final buzzer of Game 6. Moreover, he added about the financial struggles of the Milwaukee Bucks this season because there were no fans at the beginning of the season. However, all that goes away once you win, according to Feigin.
He said: “This year is the year we started with no fans in the arena. We’re scaling it up at 250 fans to 300 fans to 4000. I was just looking yesterday at kind of like our attendance tracking and revenue tracking. I mean, December feels like 14 years ago which, it usually doesn’t we are in the later stages if July.”

Feigin also spoke about their playoff run having bumps along the way. How the Milwaukee Bucks came back a few times, how Giannis got injured and Middleton took charge. Feigin added:
“But, boy like you take our playoff run, we had a really fun playoff run. We came back in a couple of series. Where we had some like flashes where Giannis’ knee bent backwards and Khris took us through the Atlanta series. So, it seems like this endless journey. But, the second you win, kind of everything evaporates and we’re on Cloud 10.”

It is understandable that it is a surreal feeling to be champions of the world. Moreover, to do it after 50 years makes it all the more sweet.
The Milwaukee Bucks trio of Giannis, Middleton and Jrue had some amazing performances through these playoffs that helped the Milwaukee Bucks go all the way. No wonder all problems turn to dust when you are crowned as NBA champions.
