Kyrie Irving has become the center of negative attention in the NBA following his controversial social media post recently. The Brooklyn Nets guard received heat from critics and fans for sharing the link to an anti-semitic movie on his Twitter account. Notably, NFL legend and sports analyst Shannon Sharpe also took a dig at Kyrie and condemned his opinions. Meanwhile, former Lakers star Kwame Brown has backed the opinions of Kyrie Irving and denounced Sharpe for his comments on the Nets guard.

Kwame Brown did not seem happy about Sharpe and co-host Skip Bayless taking a dig at Kyrie Irving. They also targeted former NFL star Cole Beasley for defending the Nets star. Sharpe and Bayless discussed Cole Beasley’s opinion on their show UNDISPUTED.

Brown defends Kyrie Irving’s right to ‘opinions’

Kwame Brown responded to Sharpe’s comments and bashed the NFL legend for questioning Irving’s right to have an opinion. Brown pointed out something that Skip Bayless had said on the show. Bayless stated that he hoped Beasley had made enough money so that he did not have to work anymore after supporting Kyrie Irving.

Kwame Brown elaborated that what Bayless had said meant nobody would want to associate with Beasley or Irving because of their opinions. Brown continued, “His opinion that he just shared is somehow going to lead to no one wanting to give this man, this American man, a job based on his opinion. And we’re still saying this is America.”

The former Lakers star was clearly not impressed by the comments made by Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless. He came in support of Irving and Beasley, advocating that they had the freedom as Americans to express their opinions freely.
