The NBA opening night was nothing short phenomenal. The Lakers and Warriors battled it out till the final buzzer. However, a heroic late game comeback saw the Warriors trump the purple and gold yet again. This is the third time that the Bay has got the better of the Lakers now. Despite a heroic effort from LeBron James, he couldn’t get them over the line. Russell Westbrook had himself yet another bad night.

The Lakers were in command all game long; they held a lead at the half and extended it in the third quarter. However, the Warriors switched gears late game and went on multiple runs. On the other hands, the purple and gold let the game go and it came back to bite them.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis combined for 67 points. Despite that, the Lakers couldn’t get the win as the Warriors’ bench overwhelmed the remaining Lakers. No other Laker even crossed double digits, with Carmelo Anthony being the next best scorer at 9 points. With the game in their hands till the end of the third quarter, there is no excuse for such a turnaround to happen.
