Westbrook’s former teammate Kendrick Perkins discussed his thoughts on the matter. Now a sports analyst, Perkins dubbed Westbrook’s behavior as “cancerous“. He brought attention to the recent statement by Lakers head coach, Darvin Ham.

Ham told reporters that the team doesn’t have time for “people to be in their feelings“. He told the media that the team has bigger things to worry about. Perkins brought this up and believed that Ham said this for a reason.

According to Perkins, Russell Westbrook was “complaining“, “moping” and “saying little things under his breath“.

Perkins also stated a solution for the team’s internal mess. He wished for the Lakers to send Westbrook home, till some other team traded for him. Perkins was also vocal about how Westbrook’s negative attitude can be infectious. It could spread from the coaching staff to his teammates and everybody in that environment.
